Major Station Three Upgrades Complete

After months of work by contractors and fire dept staff, the major upgrades that were made to Miguez Station Three are complete.  These upgrades were needed to house additional fire dept equipment as well as to upgrade the appearance of the station, located on Fairfield Dr.

Two additional stalls were added to the back of the station which allows two fire dept trailers, lawn care equipment, and other items that were once being stored outside to be indoors now.  Being able to keep these items out of the weather will be a major cost benefit, as upkeep, maintenance, and longevity of equipment stored inside is much less than the alternative.

Along with expanding the physical station footprint, upgrades to the appearance of the station were done to keep the station as a landmark to the surrounding neighborhoods.  A large flagpole with the United Stated and Louisiana flags was the capstone of the exterior improvements, but the upgrades didn’t stop there.  All of the exterior signage, lighting, landscaping, and parking lots were also replaced or updated

These recent expansions, while bettering the protecting of our city’s fire dept. assets, also serve as a way of beautifying the City of Broussard as a whole.
