Broussard FD protects the great City of Broussard, areas of Lafayette and St. Martin Parishes. BFD responds to structure fires and alarms, wrecks with injuries and extrication, medical calls, hazardous materials, and any other special situation that may arise.
The Broussard area is considered one of the fastest growing in the State of Louisiana.

Currently, the dept. holds a rating of Class 2 from Property Insurance Association of Louisiana (PIAL); operating 17 pieces of apparatus out of 3 stations. BFD also responds on automatic and mutual aid with Youngsville and Milton Fire Departments. Additionally, BFD assists other departments in the parish if need be on a second alarm.

Broussard Fire Department is dedicated to saving lives and preserving property. Our members can be found throughout the community teaching public fire safety, providing public services, and conducting fire code inspections.
As a combination fire department, our stations are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and supplemented by volunteers.

No. The City of Broussard has a no-burn ordinance in effect. The burning of yard debris such as branches and leaves is prohibited. This debris can be placed at the road as the city picks up yard debris periodically.
You are, however, allowed to burn firewood in a fire pit or chiminea.
Broussard Fire Department responds to a number of incident types. Considered an “all hazards” department, BFD can respond to any incident from Emergency Medical Services, to Hazardous Materials and Technical Rescue.
